프롤로그 Prologue

막걸리는 오랜 세월 우리와 희로애락을 같이 해온 아주 오래된 술입니다. 막걸리는 다양한 용도로 여러 장소에서 우리와 함께해 왔습니다. 막걸리 한 주전자에 사람이 모이고, 이야기가 오고 갔으며, 때로는 웃고 울기도 했습니다. 우리와 너무 가까이 있던 친구 같은 술이었기에 우리는 지금까지 막걸리에 대해서 자세히 알아볼 기회가 없었습니다. 이렇게 오랜 기간 동안 우리와 함께해왔지만, 자세히 알아볼 기회가 없었던 막걸리에 대해서 진지하게 살펴보겠습니다.

Makgeolli has been with us in joy and sorrow for a long time. Koreans have enjoyed Makgeolli at various places on diverse occasions. People gathered around with a kettle of Makgeolli, sharing their happiness and sorrows. It was a too familiar drink for us that we did not make efforts to learn more about it. This exhibition presents an opportunity to take a closer look at our old and dear friend Makgeolli.
